I've been feeling nauseous on and off since I got carsick and seasick during the weekend... I hvn gotten carsick/seasick in a long time before this. Maybe partly cos I woke up at 5+am that day and had quite a bit for breakfast (considering it was 6am) and then ran a little bit for the bus at 6+am. And not enough blood? Ha.

(And somebody actually said the rocking movement of the boat was very comfortable! Like cradle. What?! The thought of it makes me want to vomit. Boat leh, not cruise, not even like the ferry to Pulau Ubin...)

I wonder what's wrong? Migraine...? But no throbbing headache leh.

Roar how. So uncomfortable. :(
Looking fwd to eating smth during lunch time. But I did eat breakfast though.
Ah I want iced Milo~
Or gummy...

Sep. 23rd, 2009 | 10:25 am

The reflection is killing my eyes! It doesn't help that the sun keeps poking out from the clouds every 5 seconds, argh.

-
Ytd I bought pears! The girl didn't bluff me, I ate one and it's sweet, yay :D
Also, yay to nice chocs and potato chips.
Cucumber Lays wahaha.

Oh man I smell food.... Colleague eating? Why so early. (11+)
Hungry.

If you didn't already know, Apple updated their nano and touch! On 09/09/09. Video camera for nano, and... cheaper 8GB touch? I'm gonna wait longer... Heh.

Oh if you're free, look at this article.

Would you fall in love with someone 70 years your junior/senior?!
Are you kidding me?
Even my grandma isn't 70 years older than me.

:S
:S
:S

And he is her 22nd husband.
Lolwut?!

Wah I'm feeling very uncomfortable now. Psychological discomfort.
HAHA.

:S

Oh well.

My boss is in SG!

And I wanna eat mooncakes! I ate honeydew ones. Like normal lotus paste mooncakes, but the paste tastes like honeydew instead. Haha quite nice. But I want normal ones too! I want moooooncakeeeees.

What if...

Sep. 16th, 2009 | 11:21 am

On Sat I went to dig for treasure. It was extremely satisfying.

On Sun I stayed home. Cooked cup noodles (curry one from Sg!) and dumplings, did the laundry, had the whole place to myself for a while, felt empty... Yah. But I like it when I'm alone at home :)

It's good to feel empty once in a while. Better, actually.
I don't know, it's like clearing the trash...
(Be it irl or virtual trash. You know the shiok feeling you get when you hear that sound on the mac?)

I knew I could, but didn't think I would.
Until now.

But even until now, I'm not sure.
And that's fine for now.

Hmm.

I need inspiration, but I'm sick of looking at web designs etc. Looking at interiors now. <3
I wonder when will I ever get down to revamping my room. Have been saying it for years already -.-

Hungry...
Back to building my tissue hill. When my nose is done with its race...
I'll be ready for autumn!
:)

Sep. 10th, 2009 | 01:42 am

The last two weekends have been awesome!

On 29 Aug I went out with my colleagues! I bought a bag from H&M while we were waiting for one of the colleagues to arrive heehee. Then we went to have Japanese food for lunch and visited the Shanghai World Financial Center's observatory. The ticket was RMB150 :( But oh well. It was worth it I guess...

I'll just post some photos? Too many :X

(Photo from colleague Yuki)

We ordered sushi and salmon sashimi etc to share.
Lays! My udon and tempura were served separately! Hahaha.

Next on the itinerary...

Left: Jin Mao Tower
Right: Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC)

SWFC is taller than Jin Mao actually. Ah perspective.
See the topmost part of SWFC? Like above the hole. We were there!

Intro thingy.

In the lift.

We went to the 100th floor...

Click for bigger pic!

After that we walked around the building and stopped for dessert.

This one has durian inside. Shiok! The rest didn't really like it though. Haha.

We left the building, took some photos, and walked towards the Metro stn. Then said goodbye to the Beijing intern who was leaving...

And then I went to meet the guys.
Went to Huangpu River.

(Photo from Ed)

(Photo from Ed)

Then dinner.

Chicken rice at some HK eating place.

Followed by ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery.
Mine was banana ice cream. They put nuts, chocolate and banana inside! Yum.

It was damn funny lah, laughed non-stop the whole day. Hahaha.

And that's only for Sat. Wah it took me so long. It's almost 4am!
Need to sleep already. Continue another time.
Good night :D

What I wrote on Sat, 22 Aug:

Today's weather is hotlikeshit, the temperature prolly reached 35°C, but I haven't felt more calm and peaceful since I arrived. It was really good to get away from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai city, to see some genuine smiles instead of the bochap and blank faces I see on the metro every day. Short but happy trip.

The journey took abt 2hrs? Or more...

See the rest of the set here.

Hello

Aug. 27th, 2009 | 12:11 pm

According to the colleagues, yesterday was 七夕, the Chinese Valentine's Day. No wonder a few weeks ago I heard a salesgirl tell a customer that V day is approaching. I still thought "huh?! half a year away leh". Anyway there's this florist near the workplace. They had more bouquets than usual ytd, and they even had blue roses. ^^ Oh on the way home I heard a couple bickering. Sad ah, but that's not the point. The Chinese couple was bickering in English! Quite rare here, no? But I couldn't look for too long lest the lady stab my toes with her heels or smth.

On Monday I did the laundry before breakfast and still made it to work slightly earlier than usual! So happy lol. Roar. Can't wait for Sat. Need to shop.

Baa. Such a senseless post. I don't have photos with me atm. I've uploaded market photos though. Ahaha.

Aug. 19th, 2009 | 11:39 pm

It started with this ad I saw on the cab from the airport. I went O.O and the ads kept changing so I waited for it to appear again to see properly haha.

And then this!

Then the concert!
Wahahaha.

Shouldn't be spending like that, but aiyah.
LP to make up for Baybeats.
More than made up for it lor, I think.
Woohoo :D

Picked some shots to post here.
Wished I had super telephoto lens, though it might be a bit too conspicuous heh.

YT I pass you the high res files if you want ok! Then you can print out hahaha :P

Aug. 17th, 2009 | 05:32 pm

Internet's cranky and slow. So many things to blog about, but I can't. Lost the internet connection at home again, since Fri night. Boo. Did the typhoon break more cables? Please update me, I don't watch tv here...

Just caught a colleague laughing to himself (softly) in front of the screen. I don't feel so bad now. HAHA.

Really hope the internet works when I get back later.

And I'm really thankful for good weather on Sat! Will update with photos when I can.

A series of unfortunate events: Part 2

Aug. 13th, 2009 | 08:37 pm

My sandal broke :(
I tripped on smth, but I dunno what.
Argh cjd.

I'll have to either wear flip flops to work (like the colleagues) or wear the suede-ish mary janes and hope it doesn't rain, which is quite unlikely :(

Hope to get a replacement on Sat!
Poor sandals, quite new leh.
Why do my sandals always break?!

--

I think it's time to do something to my hair.
But I dunno what.
HOW?

Too many photos, update another time ok :S

Today I walked past a building and saw Christmas decorations inside. CHRISTMAS DECO LEH. In August. Summer. A bit early ah. Or most probably put for eight months already lol.

And I noticed that the insects are coming out! Beetles, roaches, and all.

Yawn...
Oyasumi nasai.

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY.
SG ROCKS hahahaha.

Despite the ugly green barney thing, the pole acrobats (wth?) and all the other silliness, for a while, the webcast made me forget that I'm in SH. (Until they called me to eat dinner, which consisted of chou tofu!) Reminds me of the fun celebrations in pri / sec school too. Lol.

What do you see?
Erm. Electrico? :D

I can totally imagine singing along to the songs with Lays if she were here LOL.

AND THANKS FOR THE CD!
THE CLASSROOM VERSION OF THE NDP LOLOL.
THANK YOU ALL <3 :D

AND.
Ytd I wanted to go shopping, so I went out. Shopped for a while, walked around, and ended up at Cheng Huang Miao! One of the main tourist attractions. Famous for their xiao long bao! I walked for at least 5 hrs. LIKE BIG WALK SIA.

Update later.

I kinda like that name.

And today I had some spare time to do nonsense...

TGIFlyday

Jul. 31st, 2009 | 08:52 am

Today morning I spent about 15 minutes trying to unclog the toilet bowl. I've never done it before mah, so I did redundant steps wahlaoehkns I think I need Dettol man. To clean the toilet and my hands.

-

Just now after lunch one of my colleagues bought a shoe rack! So cute leh, it's made of wood and there are hearts at the side. If I were in Sg I'd have bought it lor hahaha. RMB40 only, that's slightly less than SGD9!

Oh yah today after work there was a crowd outside the metro station, when I walked closer I realised that they were dancing! LOLOL. Imagine line dancing, but this was more amusing. They were dancing in pairs, you know the twirling kind. MANY MANY PAIRS. Plus spectators standing all around them. Hahahaha.

OH YAH ytd they cooked LEAFY VEG! And chilli crab. I was so surprised when I saw familiar veggies hahaha. Xiao bai cai?

Huntun

Jul. 30th, 2009 | 12:44 am

I ate ten dumplings for lunch. Woohoo. Had a bottle of milk tea too :D

And hahaha shit I bought stuff again today.
It's amazing here! Can find stuff to buy anywhere. Like on the steps of the metro station.
Today's stuff not velly cheap leh. But nice~

Differences between sch and work so far:

School
Work
No time = no food.High chance of gaining weight cos you sit there all day. The only time you walk around is to... get fooood.
Schoolwork = homework. No such thing as homework. Work is work, to be done at work! (OT is another issue.)
Cool iMacs.Newer cool iMacs.

I think I'm in a rather good mood cos I kinda finished the first task. Took me three days! Review tmr morning though :x

Saw this quote again on a colleague's nick.
(Yes that's why I can't whine abt work on my nick lol. The boss and supervisor will seeee.)
Reminder to all:

"Stay hungry.
 Stay foolish."

I think it makes sense.

Lastly...
Proof that I'm alive (and bored):

Yay I can use the internet now.
But all my bookmarks are gone!
Sigh.

(Edit: Bookmarks retrieved yay! :D)

Nvm nvm, gotta be thankful for what we have lolol.

Work.

Work's fine.
Had lunch with different groups of people ytd and today.
They don't usually bother about us. But I guess that's fine... for now.
There's another intern from Beijing.
Oh there's one Singaporean working here!
But I heard he's been here for two years already.
He speaks Mandarin like a local. I think he has reached the stage whereby he can go shopping without being cheated.
And after the CD emailed everyone, another Singaporean emailed me! She's at the Los Angeles branch now. Too bad she's not in Shanghai :(

My supervisor is Irish. And so far we have nothing much to say to each other :x
But it's only the second day, so it's alright heh.

I went for a reallysupermini shopping spree after work today heehee. It's partly the buy-cos-it's-cheap thing again :x

Best buy of the day - pretty card holder :D
It has bird cages, birds, and little polka dots on it. Heh.
Mirror image though.

On the way home...

Can see the Oriental Pearl Tower (东方明珠塔) in the background.

I miss leafy vegetables. They eat a lot of beans and stalky vegetables here. And sticky rice! I like sticky rice.
I hvn eaten fast food yet! I've walked past a huge KFC thrice already, I'm so gonna eat there. Soon!

OH YAH.
Just now while I was washing dishes I heard this ad on tv:

A: 奶奶,什么味道?
B: 爱的味道。

Omg! Hahaha so cheesy.

Hvn really had time to explore yet.
Can't wait for the weekend!
Roar.

Sorry for lousy pics! Didn't bring camera out.
And sorry for the excessive use of smileys and exclamation marks. I am alone atm and I can only talk to myself in this manner. Lalalala.

Hello I'm at work now

Jul. 28th, 2009 | 10:12 am

For the first time in my life laundry and trash are more pressing concerns than not getting access to Facebook.

BUT.
Now I can't connect to the internet at "home".
Damn sad.

Just found a fix online, shall try later. Hope it works!!

Ttyl.

Jul. 26th, 2009 | 05:12 pm

I've arrived :)
And I decided to set up this LJ cos I need to use the proxy thingy to access Blogger and this should be more convenient... I think.

5+++ hours later...

(On the way to Pudong from the airport)

Yesterday, with 23kg of baggage and a truckload of mixed emotions I made my way to find the (almost) strangers who are kind enough to host me here. They cooked dinner, which consisted of quite a few dishes, including prawns and mao dou (furry beans?!). And Uncle has been really helpful, bringing me around and all. So everything's fine at the moment. This morning we tried going to the workplace. Went to the supermarket too. I can't wait to go shopping but this time I have no shopping kaki :x

Work starts tmr :S
Jiayou, everyone!

Ps. OMG LINKIN PARK IS COMING TO SH!! :O
